The Fox

"The Fox"
-Dan Puskar 2011

He loved her dear
and always had
Through her fear
he held her hand
Through her pain
he eased her heart
caressed her kind and kissed her heart

And she loved him
with all she was
Gave her heart and soul because
no other man could make her see
the joy in life he gave for free
This man to her was destiny

So they danced the dance of love
entwined as one whole being of
a unique source of glowing joy
that fuels meek angels God employs
A love that lights the sun and stars
consuming all of what they are
And to them came the joy of light
born to bring their love to heights

Embracing such a divine fate
never known at any date
so complete was their joy
that ne'er did they e'er employ
an evil thought or wrongful deed
They knew no hate and bore no greed

Blind to malice, deaf to worry
neither one knew meaning fury
And such were they in state of bliss
they radiated love as this
They shone and glowed a light of graces
and so it showed upon their faces
It rang with Truth upon their words
their love that soared and wheeled like birds

But though their glee defined their skies
it did in turn destroy their lives
for upon them fell an evil curse
from vile lips through wicked words
A satanic spectre spied their joy
and saw that they must be destroyed
As evil does, so evil deeds
fueling hate with wicked seed
Upon the man and woman fell
a black, unholy, evil spell

Out amongst the trees one day
man and woman deemed to play
Picking flowers, singing songs
Not foreseeing ill or wrong
When unto them there came a fox
with ruddish coat and pale white socks
It spied them with a manner gentle
appearing of a pensive mettle
It stood and watched them from a distance
entranced by beauty in an instant

They did not know the beast was there
and did not feel its frozen stare
for the beast was not of Earth
but of Hell, of demon birth
In guise of fox that all could see
dwelled a haunted, evil entity
The creature's spirit it had drained
and thieved it's body and it's brain
and while they slept upon warm ground
without a warning or a sound
She murdered both as they did sleep
and their love did evil reap
